How It Works
Measurement Process
The first step in getting the right tuxedo for you is the measurement. When you come in for measurement at Always A Party Tuxedo Rental there are a few things to keep in mind. First, come wearing a pair of pants that fits your waist similarly to how you would like your tuxedo pants to fit. Secondly, wear socks of a similar thickness to what you will wear on the day of the wedding or prom. This will help us ensure a good fitting dress shoe. Thirdly, during the measurement try to relax and not tense your muscles and stand in a posture that is comfortable to you. The technician doing the measuring will take each of the measurements twice to ensure accuracy. Finally, give some thought to how tightly you would like the tuxedo to fit your body. Our tuxedos come in four differing fits, Ultra-Slim, Slim, Modern, and Traditional. Ultra-Slim fit is designed to fit most tightly to your figure while traditional tuxedos offer the loosest fit.
Tuxedo Lapel Styles
Outside of the color of your tuxedo, the most recognizable stylistic element is the lapel. Tuxedo lapels from Always A Party Tuxedo Rentals come in three general types, notch, peak and shawl. A notched lapel is the type most common to business suits where the lower lapel forms an angle roughly like the upper lapel with space between which gives its characteristic “notched” look. A peak lapel is the style most found in a classic tuxedo where the lower lapel angles sharply upward forming a “peak” pointing toward the shoulders. The final lapel type is the shawl lapel. In this case the lapel is made of one continuous piece with no notch or seam of any kind. It lays over the shoulders draped like the appearance of a shawl. This is often found on formal dinner jackets or smoking jackets.
Accessories
Accessories are what will really give your tuxedo rental the individual character you want to express. Vests, ties, and pocket squares come in a wide variety of colors, patterns and textures which add the pop of color necessary to match the occasion. Tie styles include both bowties and full Windsor. You will also need to decide on tuxedo jewelry including button studs and cuff links as well which come in black or white framed with gold or silver. All these elements can be chosen to give your tux that special individual flare.
What To Expect
When you come into the showroom on the day of your measurement be sure to bring the means to pay for your tuxedo selection in full. Always A Party Tuxedo Rentals can not place an order for your Tuxedo until we have received payment. Once you have made your selections, been measured, and made your payment, your tuxedo will be ordered. Tuxedos arrive at our showroom on the Monday before your event. This gives you time to come in to try on your selection in our changing area. In the event that something would need to be reordered that will give us enough time to process the reorder. All rented tuxedos must be returned on the Monday following the event. Returning the tux later than Monday will result in late charges.
